Beyond growth and value: alternative investment approaches in perspective

About the Event
Equity investing is often viewed through the lens of the growth vs value debate. More recently, however, concepts that are often overlooked such as earnings acceleration have re-emerged as alternative ways to diversify and grow investment portfolios. A lack of evidence and discussion around this approach means that much is to be explored in regards to its practical benefits and its place within a pension scheme’s investment strategy. The need to move beyond the growth vs value debate has been widely acknowledged by those who consider the dichotomy to be either stringent or outdated. This is particularly relevant now, in an uncertain post-pandemic climate where investors are faced with a hard to predict market. Does growth vs value continue to provide a relevant lens for investment decisions? Can other approaches such as that of earnings acceleration provide a viable alternative that is both durable and profitable across market cycles? How would such an approach fit within traditional investment portfolios? Hosted by Pensions Expert in collaboration with American Century Investments and chaired by Stephanie Hawthorne, this 50 minute webinar will explore earnings acceleration as a source of excess returns, asking how such approaches can fit within an investment portfolio to make the most of equity investments.
