Verbal Judo
About the Event
Verbal Judo is a gentle yet powerful means of persuasion that helps us to avoid, resolve, and manage resistance and conflict by utilizing professional presence and words. It teaches us how to listen and speak more effectively, engage people through empathy, the most powerful word in the English language, and use proven strategies that allow us to communicate professionally regardless of the kind of day we or the other person is having. Verbal Judo offers practical solutions that work under pressure, along with techniques and conditioned responses that have been extensively tested in the field. The Verbal Judo philosophy is that when you react, the event controls you; when you respond, you’re in control. Participants in this two-day program will learn a new, gentle approach to maintaining control in situations without escalating stress, frustration, or conflict, while treating all people with respect.
