Conversations around bias, racism, discrimination, and prejudice are growing, and frequently ignored or felt to be uncomfortable. For the purpose of this conversation, and for the benefit of the young children we serve, this presentation will focus on Implicit Bias and how young children experience, learn and are impacted by Implicit Bias throughout their life. Participants will view a short video of a young man of color engaging with his community and different systems throughout his youth.
Participants will use the video to reflect on and examine their own personal biases and how, without being aware of it, those biases and assumptions can unintentionally negatively impact the children and families they serve. This is a conversation that is intended to spark further discussion about self-awareness and a commitment to reflect on one's personal and professional journey and the impact on young children in our care.
The live Q&A session on February 8th at 11:00 AM will have a cap of attendees (30)
