Q&A Bio: Farooq is a Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Lean Six-Sigma Black Belt, a master trainer, motivational speaker and a seasoned Supply Chain Executive, with multi-cultural management experience and a proven track record of leading and managing local, regional and global supply chains. He has worked in France, Brazil, Singapore, New Zealand, China and Malaysia. Academically, he holds a Masters in Business Administration (Finance), a Masters of Science in Logistics & Supply Chain Management and a Bachelors of Engineering in Industrial & Manufacturing Engineering. He started his career in the Automobile manufacturing where he gained experience in product development, 5S & Kaizen Management, Lean Manufacturing and Toyota Production System. Later he joined the heavy steel manufacturing industry where he worked on increasing the productivity through non-conventional and lean six sigma tools. As part of his career progression, he joined the world’s number 1 oil field service provider, where he gained valuable experience, especially in the area of strategic negotiations and helped the organization achieving the challenging cost-reduction objectives during the 2008-09 economic crisis.
