Bill McConnell is Sr. Vice President and Chief Information Officer for Indiana University Health. IU Health is an 18 hospital integrated healthcare delivery organization focused in the state of Indiana. Prior to joining IU Health, Bill enjoyed a productive career for 40 years, split roughly equally between senior executive business positions and consulting. Bill’s business leadership roles include Senior Vice President roles with Boston Scientific Corporation, Guidant Corporation and Resort Condominiums International (RCI). He served on the executive management committees for all three organizations. Bill served as Chief Information Officer for both Guidant and RCI. He was recently Chief Executive Officer for FlowCo, Inc., a medical device start-up company based in Indianapolis. Bill currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Ameriana Bancorp and Ameriana Bank, a community bank with operations in central Indiana. He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Bluelock, a cloud computing company. Prior to moving into business leadership, Bill had a successful career with Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and with Arthur Andersen & Co. Bill joined Andersen in 1971, immediately after graduating from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio. He was admitted to partnership in 1981 and became Managing Partner in 1983, leading the practice through seven years of strong growth. Bill returned to Andersen briefly in 1997 and 1998 following seven successful years at RCI. Bill has been active in the not-for-profit community, serving on the Board of Governors of the American Red Cross. Bill has also served as Chair of the Board for three Indianapolis based organizations - - The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Conner Prairie (an outdoor history museum) and the American Red Cross of Greater Indianapolis. Bill currently serves on the Board of the Indianapolis affiliate of the American Heart Association. Bill and his wife, Barbara, reside in Carmel, Indiana. They have two children and three grandchildren.
