Drawing upon her corporate spin-off experience, Sarah is now focused on a group-wide roll out in spurring corporate innovation via external ventures, incubation and acceleration at Sime Darby. She is on a mission to develop the innovation ecosystem and framework for corporate intrapreneurs to succeed and ultimately deliver maximum value to the Sime Darby business lines. Earlier, she pioneered the roll out of a new corporate venture capital unit, from strategy paper to P&L responsibility which invested and nurtured pre-commercial companies in the biotechnology space. Notably, she worked on the US$30Million acquisition of US biotech company, Verdezyne for which signing was witnessed by former President Obama. Sarah is an emerging thought leader in Women & Business as recognized when she was awarded a Fellowship with the Royal Society of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce of England, and recently named Prestige Top 40 Under 40 and FEMALE’s “Iconic Woman”. Driven to see a world where women are celebrated for their choices, and an equal playing field exists for women to advance into leadership, Sarah co-founded Asia Women Circle that drives @leaninmalaysia, a platform which harnesses the power of community to embolden women to achieve their full potential. In 2016, Sarah was appointed by Sheryl Sandberg (COO, Facebook) as Regional Leader, championing Lean In Asia with a reach beyond 300,000. Having grown up in the media industry as a national TV host from 9 years old, and later part of the Young Achievers Group, she’s worked with industry leaders and politicians on society-building causes since. She continues to be called upon internationally to challenge discussions in conferences/ TV shows, having spoken on Facebook's grounds in Palo Alto, contributed to the investor panel at Cleantech Forum Italy, engaged with the likes of former UK Minister Mark Prisk, chairing panels with Senator Idris Jala, appearing across multiple media channels across Asia.
