Andrew Ko leads Global Education within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Worldwide Public Sector business, which includes K-12, Higher Education, Publishers, and Education Technology companies. Prior to joining AWS, Andrew served as Corporate Vice President of Samsung Global Education and the Enterprise Business team for mobile products and solutions for the European region representing over $3.3B revenue for Samsung Mobile. Prior to Samsung, Andrew was the General Manager for Microsoft Corporation’s U.S. Education business where he led the Partners in Learning team creating new and innovative ways for teaching and learning throughout schools positively impacting hundreds of school districts and millions of students. He also led the White House ConnectED initiative shaping a public/private partnership model to provide technology and internet access to millions in school. In January 2014, Governor Terry McAuliffe appointed Andrew as a member of the Virginia State Board of Education where he assisted in setting statewide curriculum standards; establishing high school graduation requirements; determining qualifications for classroom teachers, principals, and other education personnel; establishing state testing and assessment programs; establishing standards for accreditation of local school divisions and preparing programs for teachers and administrators. Andrew earned his B.S. in Accounting from the University of Maryland and was a Certified Public Accountant.
