About the speaker Ivan Ong Ivan is the Founder or Ivan & Koon a boutique legal firm offering a wide range of legal services from advisory to dispute resolution. His particular areas of interest are corporate and commercial advisory as well as civil and commercial, and criminal litigation. He has acted for clients in a wide range of industries (including consumer products, education, manufacturing and retail, service, technology, financial services, media and entertainment, food and beverage). Ivan’s experience covers incorporation and corporate governance, commercial and corporate strategy, corporate acquisitions and sale transactions, shareholders’ agreements, contract structuring, joint ventures arrangements and franchises. Ivan also advises clients on employment law, licensing requirements, competition law, company law, personal data protection and gaming and lottery. When not buried in contracts, Ivan enjoys traveling the world and discovering new places. Musyrifah Abdul Malek Musyrifah’s areas of practice are conveyancing (real estate/property) as well as corporate and commercial advisory. Following her adventurous spirit, Musyrifah also previously lived and worked as a Legal Consultant in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea - first for a multinational company and later for an ICT consulting company that consulted for the Government of Papua New Guinea and the Ministry of Communication & Information of Papua New Guinea on an ICT project. Besides being an Advocate & Solicitor, Musyrifah is also a President for the Strata Management Tribunal, an accredited mediator with the Malaysian Mediation Centre, a Commissioner for Oaths and a certified Project Manager (Prince2 Registered Practitioner).
