Lee Edwards retired from General Motors in 2005 with 37 years of experience in engineering and management. His functional areas of expertise include manufacturing, project management, and manufacturing and product engineering. He served more than 20 years in senior management overseeing operations, quality management, research and technology development, and manufacturing and product engineering. In 1990 he managed the design and development of battery pack systems for electric vehicles, and in1998 he managed the design and development of fuel cells stacks for fuel cell vehicles. Additionally, he has taught mathematics, physics and a special class on machine controls at a local vocational school. He’s always been passionate about helping others and continues to do so by tutoring, mentoring, teaching, guiding and leading by example. Edwards is originally from the Midwest where he grew up on a farm in Indiana. He received a BS in Physics from Indiana State University. As a student at ISU, he operated a hay baling business to pay for his tuition. Edwards currently resides in Wilmington, NC, where he serves on several boards and has been a mentor for SCORE for the last 12 years.
