- One Day is a 2-day event designed to match talented alumni educators and rising alumni (second year corps members) to education-based roles in Nashville. If you're looking for a new opportunity in the 2018-19 school year or if you're looking to hire amazing talent for open roles at your school, this event is for you!
- At the same time, the event isn’t merely for job seekers! If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “Man, I really wish I knew how x school organizes their student data” or “Gee, I wish I could meet the person who does hiring for that school network because I want to know how they track applicants,” or even, “I feel disconnected from the TFA community. What are people up to out there?,” then this event is FOR YOU! This year’s theme is “Inspire – Connect – Match,” and we’ve divided programming into 3 central pieces around those ideas. Our registration process will allow you to opt-in to the "Connect" and "Inspire" portion of the weekend without also committing to the hiring portions.
- Both local and non-local attendees are welcome to join us
- One Day in BNA is FREE for attendees. Yes, FREE!
- Partner schools: there is a $250 registration fee which enables you to have a table at the hiring fair and an interview space, as well as access to other portions of the weekend (including Friday's Happy Hour)
- Financial aid is available for non-local alumni to offset the costs of lodging and transportation.
- If you'd like some coaching around your resume in advance of this event, email a copy of it to Megan Huggard, Manager of Alumni Leadership & Engagement, at megan.huggard@teachforamerica.org. We'd be happy to help!
- The Collective will be hosting a workshop to aid in preparing resumes, cover letters, interview responses, and general networking tips for local alumni who identify as people of color and/or come from a low-income background. For more information about this event, contact Lauren King, Co-President of The Collective board, at lauren.king@teachforamerica.org

- One Day in BNA will begin the morning of Friday, March 2nd, with two sets of three school tours each. The school tours are split into elementary and secondary "tracks." We will come together after the school tours to debrief the tours over lunch. Lunch is followed by a block of free time-- feel free to connect with partner schools in advance of Saturday's job fair, explore Nashville, or check in to your hotel.
- Friday night, we will come together with Leadership for Educational Equity's Tennessee Education Policy Summit attendees for a happy hour.
- On Saturday, March 2, we will begin the day with plenary speakers describing the education landscape in Nashville and the unique need for talented educators to build and sustain their careers here. The plenary session will also include performances from Nashville students!
- Following the plenary session, we will roll into the job fair. This time will feature partner schools at tables, and attendees and partners are encouraged to meet up and discuss opportunities for the 2018-19 school year. Boxed lunch will be served at the conclusion of the fair.
- The remainder of the afternoon is open for partners and attendees to connect for formal job interviews.
