About The Military Veterans and Spouse Initiative
Our nation’s highest need schools and students benefit greatly from the depth of experience, strength, leadership and desire military veterans and spouses have to continue to serve their country. In the long-term, this group of alumni is uniquely positioned to lead in aspects of our society; building off the experiences both in the military and in the classroom. As a result of the initiative’s work, Teach For America will be seen as a partner in assisting veterans and spouses transition into the field of education and to maximize their impact as civilian leaders.
Veterans and military spouses who join us join a community dedicated to their training, support, and lifelong leadership development. We are creating a supportive community for veterans and spouses and are continuing to leverage external partnerships with veteran service organizations and private organizations to ensure our corps members and alumni have access to the resources and network they need to be continue their growth and development.
