Entrepreneurs United
July 27 - 28, 2018
Hyatt Regency Downtown Phoenix
Phoenix, Arizona
About the Event
This conference is an opportunity for entrepreneurs to develop and build skills, strengthen community, and cultivate connections. You can experience skills-focused, interactive, workshops; hear from seasoned entrepreneurs & education leaders about their successes and failures to accelerate your own learning; and interrogate the internal work to be done that will set you up for the best support of students and families. Throughout the weekend connect with old friends and make new ones.
Who Should Attend
The conference is geared towards aspiring and current entrepreneurs - this includes corps members and alumni at all stages. More details on the various groups we hope to see represented below.
Aspiring entrepreneurs: If you have ideas swirling in your head and want to learn more about how to bring these ideas to fruition, how others have experienced this journey, or what your place in the “startup-up world” could be. Open to corps members and alumni.
Current entrepreneurs: If you have launched a venture, are already in market and have started to scale, there will be later-stage entrepreneur focused sessions and conversation topics.
School leaders: We have a limited number of seats available for school leaders to join us in an effort to translate some of the innovative leadership and ideas back into the school building. This is also an opportunity for school leaders to learn about programs and supports available to them, their students and families that may support the school leader’s broader visions of success in the school.
Community members: We know that our work cannot live in the silos of Teach For America and are excited to welcome members of the community to join us. We have a limited number of seats available.
What to Expect
Meaningful Connections: Deep and meaningful community of practitioners and innovators that will learn together with multiple opportunities to connect formally and informally.
Actionable Learning: Differentiated skill-building experiences, coaching and mentorship to inspire, run and grow innovations at different stages of development. Differentiated professional development for early stage innovative thinkers includes design thinking, hypothesis testing, pitch coaching among others. Later stage entrepreneurs will benefit from sessions designed to help them develop personal stories, expressing progress, building relationships with investors and much more.
Diversity of Experience and Identity: Authentic and purpose-rich environment that helps activate understanding and surface needs, salient concerns and aspirations. Experience a space that responds to respect, and fosters the values and diversity of identity and experience.
