Steve has an extensive track record in building and running major Global Markets and Institutional Loans businesses and has proven himself to be a very effective risk taker/manager, leader and investor. He has worked in leadership roles for over 30 years, across all financial asset classes and both sales and trading operations. Specifically, Steve ran fixed income (including rates, credit and derivatives); foreign exchange; cash equities and derivatives; and debt and equity capital markets at Managing Director level for over 22 years. In developing these businesses, Steve led key strategic initiatives, while overseeing relationships with primary regulators, including being a member of the Federal Reserve Foreign Exchange Committee. He is recognised globally for transforming complex global markets and banking operations through building high-performing, motivated teams that deliver strong results. Such banks include Merrill Lynch (MD and Global Head of Foreign Exchange and European Capital Capital Markets) and Dresdner Kleinwort (Global Head of Capital Markets, 3,000 front office staff, revenues c.US$3.5bn) in London, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong and Singapore. His most recent role was MD, Global Markets & Institutional Loans, at ANZ Banking Group (managing over US$300b in assets and over US$4b in revenues). Steve also has a deep knowledge of real estate and private equity investing. He founded a global property development business, investing in and co-developing five star residential properties, and also founded a private equity investment group - both managed from the UK and the USA. He was the founding investor in RealD (3D digital cinema exhibition system), which listed on the NYSE in July 2010. Steve has been following blockchain for over five years and cryptocurrencies for at least two years, as well as having been directly involved in a number of fintech and digital banking businesses from inception through to implementation. In 2017, he founded Digital Currency Holdings and drove the launch of EKT Active Fund, an institutional-compliant, regulated blockchain and cryptocurrency hedge fund, in January 2018.
