About the WYAA State Conference
The Wyoming Afterschool Alliance will host the 11th Annual WYAA State Conference on Afterschool Programs October 2-3, 2019 at Little America in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
The conference provides professional development, technical assistance, and networking opportunities for afterschool providers and staff, coordinators and directors, school administrators, early childcare providers, youth development professionals, and key stakeholders from across Wyoming.
Afterschool programs are locally-driven solutions that help children learn and reach their full potential, families balance work with home, and employers hire the workforce they need. Teachers report that students in afterschool programs show more interest in learning, behave better, and complete their homework assignments. Afterschool programs offer new learning opportunities and help all students thrive in school and life.
This year’s programming will feature creativity and inclusion with Director of the Yubulyawan Dreaming Project Paul Taylor, Wyoming poet and speaker Adrian Molina, CEO of Smarter Learning Group Ron Fairchild, a 1980’s dance party with Boogie Machine, a training series on inclusion from Kids Included Together (KIT), breakout sessions for attendees to tailor their experience, and more!
The WYAA State Conference on Afterschool Programs is designed to help attendees focus on education and networking while also raising the profile of the afterschool profession throughout the Cowboy State and across the country.
