About the Event
Parks, street trees, and open spaces are increasingly being recognized as important local tools to reduce the impact of global climate crisis on all communities. The Trust for Public Land is working with cities and communities large and small to reduce pollution and protect people and places from the worst climate-related impacts. As extreme weather risks continue to increase, cities like NYC are looking to parks and green infrastructure to reduce the impacts of flooding, heat waves and rising temperatures. This panel will explore how parks and nature-based solutions are not just helpful –but essential –in efforts to put community and equity at the center of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies. The event will take place in the historic Puck Building.
