All of the various OTT devices play a crucial role in enabling access to streaming services and providing an optimal user experience to consumers. How are you thinking about content, platforms and consumption patterns by demographic, device, and distribution strategy? What device(s) will dominate the future of video entertainment and how does that change the content mix, production methods/budgets, and your distribution strategy? How do usage patterns and platform preferences-- particularly if mobile (phone, tablet and even laptop) becomes dominant-- impact monetization models and methods? Is there a future for STBs (cable, satellite) and if so how will it evolve (IP-based boxes like X1?)? And what about streaming media players /media hubs and SmartTVs? Do consumers prefer all-in-one for their lean back experience? Is this practical given the different lengths of noticeable evolutionary improvements of the processor tech vs. display tech? We’ll tackle these and other key questions as we try to figure out the often fragmented device landscape.
