Drawing on his extensive experience in the banking and insurance sector, including working for the FSMA (the Belgian financial supervisory authority), Thomas provides his clients with pragmatic solutions on a wide range of regulatory and compliance issues.

Thomas helps financial institutions and insurance companies to implement complex regulations. His areas of expertise cover financial law and compliance (AML, PSD(2), listed companies…), data protection, market practices, IP, IT and distribution law.

Prior to Ethikos and the FSMA, Thomas has worked for renowned international law firms.  

In addition to his certifications as Compliance Officer and Data Protection Officer, Thomas holds a law degree from the Université libre de Bruxelles (ULB), a LL.M in advanced business law from the Ghent University, a MBA from the Solvay Business School and a LL.M in corporate law from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KUL).

Thomas is also involved in various academic activities (member of the jury for the examination of the Certified Compliance Officers (Febelfin), professor in legal drafting, publication of numerous articles on data protection, distribution contracts…).
