Keynote Workshop Financial Wellness Framework by Elaine Luttrull
Building healthy financial habits can be a challenge for anyone… And in the creative arts, we have the added complication of managing cash flow, relying on uncertain sources of income, managing saving and investing, and measuring success in creative and financial terms. And all of that can be overwhelming. So we’ll break it down. In this keynote workshop, we’ll cover ways to talk about money with your students to set them up for success. Specifically, we'll cover healthy approaches to diversify revenue effectively, spend with intention, and set realistic earnings goals to cover savings and tax obligations. Outcomes for this workshop are to:
1. Talk comfortably about uncomfortable financial topics.
2. Identify a framework for financial wellness.
3. List opportunities to diversify revenue.
4. Identify core "spending" categories and plan accordingly.
5. Identify next steps and action items.
This session is ideal for:
Faculty who teach students from creative disciplines
Faculty interested in engaging arts faculty across campus
Center directors and program leaders who are building arts entrepreneurship programs or curriculum
Location: NC State
Leads: Jessa Wilcoxen and Jeremy Peters
