USASBE Awards
USASBE Program, Lifetime, Pedagogical, and Special Interest Group Awards that will be presented at the 2022 Annual Conference are below. We need YOUR nominations and submissions in order to evaluate the recipients and winners of the awards. The coveted Excellence in Entrepreneurship Education Awards were established by USASBE to recognize excellence in entrepreneurship education at the programmatic level. The categories are model program, model emerging program, excellence in pedagogical innovation and excellence in co-curricular innovation. The Max S. Wortman, Jr. USASBE Lifetime Achievement Award for Entrepreneurship is presented to a recipient in recognition for a lifetime of entrepreneurial achievement that encompasses the ideals of entrepreneurial activity. Max's influence on the field of entrepreneurship education impacts USASBE to this day. Read more about the award criteria, and nominate an inspirational leader.
The John E. Hughes Award for Entrepreneurial Achievement recognizes an individual who, through significant and sustained entrepreneurial initiatives, has demonstrated a unique ability to accept and manage risk, exercise personal control, and acquire personal reward. Read more about the award criteria, and nominate an entrepreneur committed to developing the next generation of entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurship Educator of the Year is given to an individual who has provided distinguished leadership over a number of years within the field of entrepreneurship education. Recipients will typically have contributed substantive advancements to the way in which scholars think about and approach entrepreneurship teaching and learning. See a list of past recipients.
The Entrepreneurship Experiential Education (3E) Competition grew from the 3e-Learning Project at George Washington University, and sought to establish more and better use of entrepreneurial experiential learning exercises and games used as teaching tools to assist educators in teaching entrepreneurship. Inquire about how to submit for these awards.
These awards are presented each year by USASBE and sponsoring partners within the Entrepreneurship Education community, in recognition of outstanding conference papers and case submissions, and workshop presentations within special categories during the USASBE's annual conference. SIG Awards
SIG Award Nominations will be due on October 15, 2021, and are submitted on the Awardforce platform. If you have questions about the nomination or submission process, please contact Brittani Garner or email info@usasbe.org. Organizations interested in sponsoring SIG Awards in 2022 or in the future can contact Julienne Shields.
The MWE SIG organized an awards program to emphasize the significant accomplishments of members in their respective areas and inspire other members to achieve. The honors are bestowed each year during the USASBE annual conference.
The USASBE Social Entrepreneurship SIG is now inviting nominations for the following four SIG awards, each which come with an accompanying monetary award of $250, sponsored by the Algernon Sydney Sullivan Foundation.
The USASBE Rural Entrepreneurship SIG will be inviting nominations for a new SIG awards, to elevate the developing context of rural entrepreneurship education. This SIG award is sponsored by East Carolina University.
