UArctic Speaker Training 2021

Dear Speakers and Conveners/Moderators,

Thank you for signing up to the UArctic speaker training, we are so happy to have you here! 

The training sessions will be hosted by the Iceland Travel Conference Team who are managing the Bizzabo platform that will be used for the UArctic events. When signing up for the training session, please choose the time and date most suitable for you.

 
Before attending your chosen training session, we would like to ask you to do the following:

1. Register for the UArctic event that you are speaking/convening at:
   1. UArctic Assembly
   2. UArctic Congress
2. Sign Up for your chosen speaker training session
3. Try the Quick Tech Check
4. Watch the Bizzabo Speaker Training video below for visual instructions
5. Read the Bizzabo Speakers Guide or Bizzabo Moderator Guide for written instructions 
6. All sessions will be recorded by default, if for some reason we should not record your session, please let us know

Your portal invite link will be sent to your email address before the start of your session. We recommend accessing the session through the portal to get familiarized with the process.

During your speaker training we will go through the platform together, allow you to test the different features available in a safe environment and answer any questions that you might have.

Please watch this video before your selected speaker training session as it will prepare you better for the session. The first few minutes of the video look a bit different from what you will experience, you can therefore skip to minute 3:44 where the video goes into the actual virtual session.
We hope this video will also give you ideas on all of the options that you can utilize to enhance your presentation.

1. Test your camera and microphone a few hours before the event, and again 30-minutes before.

2. Not speaking but still streaming live? We always recommend muting your microphone to ensure no background noise is picked up, just don’t forget to unmute when it’s your turn to speak again!

3. We recommend Google Chrome be used as the internet browser when utilizing our tool.

4. Webcam Tips - Make sure the webcam is in the height of your eyes. Most of the built-in webcam's quality is sufficient. However, an external webcam with higher quality can work even better.

5. Lighting Tips - Ideally, you should have lighting in your direction. If you don't have this equipment, simply make sure that the background won't be a window or any other light source that might make you look dark.

6. Have a cup of water and a box of tissues nearby. You don’t want to have a dry throat during the session, nor do you want to sneeze and rush around looking for a tissue.
