Chronic Disease Prevention and Management: A Path to Better Health
ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
Chronic diseases are among the most common and most costly of all health problems in Mississippi. Medical spending on chronic health conditions has grown rapidly in recent years, especially following the COVID19 pandemic. Medical costs associated with chronic health conditions are expected to continue to increase, creating stressful situations for individuals, families, caregivers and health care providers. There are new and emerging practices, however, that can help Mississippi move forward with improving the lives of all Mississippians with chronic diseases. The Mississippi Office of Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Office of Preventive Health and Health Equity, Mississippi State Department of Health is sponsoring this 1st Annual Virtual Symposium to discuss the latest in strategies and interventions related to the full spectrum of chronic diseases. The conference is free, virtual, and offers continuing education for health care providers of all types.
