    3rd Annual Sleep Symposium

    Course Description

    Doctors recommend seven to nine hours or sleep per night, however millions of adults and children suffer from sleep disorders that prohibit them from reaching the recommended amount. Sleep disorders may be seen either as a cause or consequence of other medical conditions. Join us for a full day of education at the 3rd Annual Sleep Symposium as we discuss topics relating to pediatric and elderly sleep disorders, mental health, and heart health and how they intersect with sleep. This course is designed to provide in-depth overview of sleep physiology, major sleep disorders, and relationship of sleep to other disorders. Attendees will also get the facts on melatonin as well as various sleep supplements and their impact on sleep health.

    Learning Objectives

    • Determine the various sleep supplements and appropriate dosages available to patients both over the counter and prescribed.
    • Discover how insufficient or fragmented sleep can contribute to problems with blood pressure and heighten the risk of heart disease, heart attacks, diabetes, and stroke.
    • Classify the different neurological conditions that interfere with sleep causing disruption of normal sleep patterns.
