Stage 1
MAIN STAGE
This year main theme will be Sustaining Economic Recovery: we will go through that within four topics, Finance, Insurance, Regulation and Relaunch. Read more here below!
Finance:
In the past year, digital finance has significantly evolved. There is so much going on, between the emergence and fast progress of new players and the transformation of the more established ones due to the new priorities set by governments and digitalisation.
Helping to develop start-ups and scale ups whilst supporting small and large companies is key to the competitive future of the European financial ecosystem.
Our speakers will share their vision of the future of banking and finance. Open finance, blockchain, crypto and ESG are amongst the hottest topics of the day.
Insurance:
Insurance is a crucial part of our lives. To create a string customer experience, today’s insurance product and services need to be real-time, contextual and embedded. They need to blend into our daily lives. Partnerships, leveraging the power of ecosystems and exploring platform business models are at the core of this. Flexible infrastructures and strong data-analytics capabilities are needed as enablers. This evolution brings ideas and opportunities beyond insurance. We will explore how start-ups, scale-ups and corporates are adapting their business model to protect our families and businesses.
Relaunch:
The post-covid economic recovery is already here and happening. It represents an opportunity to create economic prosperity for everyone. We’ll hear from our speakers on how digital finance and alternative payment solutions will be key to this recovery. You will also have the opportunity to take a deep dive with international experts on how the CBDC are seen as an essential tool for the relaunch, comparing the e-Euro and the e-Yuan. Come and discover what the exciting new opportunities are for our ecosystem.
Regulation:
With the introduction of its digital finance package, the European Commission wants to create the right conditions for a competitive EU financial sector, giving consumers access to innovative financial products, whilst ensuring their protection and financial stability.
Our experts will share with you the latest EU decisions and their impacts. Get an overview of the latest regulatory policies in development such as eIDAS, ESG and utilities, as well as the pipeline of legislative proposals such as DORA and MiCA. On stage, the main actors in the field will share their own vision of these evolutions and the consequences for our ecosystem and the rest of our society.

A GREATER INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCE
Thanks to the digitalisation of the DFS last year, the proportion of International attendees has seen a great increase in the past few years.
This year, we expect this increase to continue thanks to the hybrid solution made available but also to our close collaboration with 13 other EU fintech associations through the European Digital Finance Association.
The EDFA is the independent industry body representing the digital finance community FinTech Belgium launched together with 7 other associations in 2020. Its mission is to support Europe’s global role in the financial technology sector.
Right now, members of EDFA come from Belgium, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Holland, France, Italy, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Spain and Slovakia.
