The 2022 Update on Advances in Endoscopy, Gastroenterology and Hepatology is being planned as a hybrid event offering both in-person and virutal attendance options. We continue to monitor US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Virginia Department of Health (VDOH) Guidelines for mass gatherings and will make updates accordingly. Similar to previous years, this one-day activity will provide an update on a wide range of topics of interest to the practicing gastroenterologist, surgeon and family physician internist. Rapid advances are being made in the understanding of the pathophysiology, natural history and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract, pancreas and liver. This course will offer practitioners a comprehensive overview of recent, cutting-edge advancements in gastroenterology and hepatology and quality in endoscopy. A special emphasis will be on emerging therapies and concepts that will improve patient care. Particular areas of focus will be the role of artificial intelligence in endoscopy, advanced endoscopic techniques including Bariatric endoscopy, advances in liver disease and management of complex GI cases.
