    COVID-19 Update: Latest Information on COVID-19 Event Protocols

    The 2022 Update on Advances in Endoscopy, Gastroenterology and Hepatology is being planned as a hybrid event offering both in-person and virutal attendance options.  We continue to monitor US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Virginia Department of Health (VDOH) Guidelines for mass gatherings and will make updates accordingly. Participants in any event should be thoughtful about their individual risks and consider avoiding public gatherings if they are of higher risk.conference is subject to change to virtual at any time due to Inova and CDC Guidelines.

    Similar to previous years, this one-day activity will provide an update on a wide range of topics of interest to the practicing gastroenterologist, surgeon and family physician internist. Rapid advances are being made in the understanding of the pathophysiology, natural history and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract, pancreas and liver. This course will offer practitioners a comprehensive overview of recent, cutting-edge advancements in gastroenterology and hepatology and quality in endoscopy. A special emphasis will be on emerging therapies and concepts that will improve patient care. Particular areas of focus will be the role of artificial intelligence in endoscopy, advanced endoscopic techniques including Bariatric endoscopy, advances in liver disease and management of complex GI cases.

    Learning Objectives 

    • Be able to apply the updated and most current guidelines for management of periendoscopic anticoagulants one. 
    • Identify the impact of COVID-19 epidemic on Endoscopy unit operation
    • Differentiate between the currently available endoscopic options in patients with surgically altered anatomy
    • Be able to explain the indications for third space endoscopy

    Due to scheduling concerns the hands on program for Endoscopy Nurses and GI Technologists has unfortunately been canceled.

    COVID-19 GUIDELINES:

    With the current surge of the COVID-19 Omicron variant, Inova CME is monitoring the CDC and local or state in-person meeting guidance. As of now, we will continue offering this event as a hybrid event with both in-person and virtual experiences available.  Inova CME will re-evaluate mid-February. As you register, you are required to read and acknowledge Inova CME COVID-19 Event Protocols before completing your registration.
