    Learn how to best incorporate new, cutting-edge techniques into everyday practice from a panel of nationally renowned specialists. This free full-day virtual symposium will feature in-depth multidisciplinary expert lectures and panel case discussions about necrotizing soft tissue, pancreatic necrosis nuances, resuscitation, structural violence and managing surgical challenges within critical care. The event is intended for surgeons, advanced practice providers, nurses, emergency medical services providers and all other allied health professionals.

    Trauma Acute Care Surgery at Inova Health System 

    When it comes to traumatic injury, every minute matters. Inova Trauma and Acute Care Surgery (TACS) – a division of the Surgery Service Line – provides comprehensive, around-the-clock care for emergency general surgery, surgical critical care and trauma patients. 

    The Inova Trauma Center on the Fairfax Medical Campus (IFMC) is Northern Virginia’s only Level 1 Trauma Center. In addition to being designated by the Commonwealth of Virginia, the IFMC trauma center has been verified by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) since 1993. 

    Inova Loudoun Hospital (ILH) was designated as a Level 3 Trauma Center in 2016 and is Loudoun County’s first and only trauma center.

    The Inova Office of Continuing Medical Education is accredited by the Medical Society of Virginia to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

    Credit Designation
    The Inova Office of Continuing Medical Education designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 7.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) ™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. Physicians may claim up to 7.5 credits in Type 1 CME on the Virginia Board of Medicine Continued Competency and Assessment Form required for renewal of an active medical license in Virginia.

    Inova Nursing Professional Development

    Inova Nursing Professional Development is approved as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the Virginia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Criteria for successful completion includes attendance at the entire event and completion of an evaluation. There are no conflicts of interest for any individual in a position to control content for this activity. RNs will earn 7.5 contact hours.
