The Rise of Cyber Attacks with Sir Alex Younger, Former Head of MI6
ABOUT THE EVENT
Global cyber attacks increased by 29 per cent in 2021. The rapid digital transformation of businesses driven by Covid-19 has created new opportunities for hackers to exploit. In particular, the risk of ransomware attacks has increased as a result of the enforced shift to remote working. Never before has it been more important for business leaders to recognise and respond to vulnerabilities in their cyber systems. Sir Alex Younger was for 30 years a career intelligence officer in Britain’s Secret Intelligence Service, MI6. He led MI6 during a period of unprecedented technological change when both digital threats and opportunities intensified. In conversation with John Thornhill, the FT’s Innovation Editor, Sir Alex will talk about how organisations can protect themselves against cyber attacks and how governments and the private sector can work together to build resilient cyber strategies.
