About The Event
Different pathogens trigger distinct effector mechanisms of the immune system. How the immune system recognizes virus-infected cells is dependent on various factors, including the mechanism of virus entry, virus replication, virion assembly and how the virus consequently stresses the host cells. To elucidate precise mechanisms behind the immune response against viruses, imaging flow cytometry can be used. This powerful tool is capable of visualizing, quantifying, and characterizing these distinct events. In this webinar, we will explore: • How the ImageStream® technology can be used to detail the immune response against viruses • The mechanism of ZikV-infected trophoblast recognition and elimination by NK cells • The mechanism of SARS-CoV-2 entry in monocytes and the consequent innate immunity anti-viral response and host cell death
