With nearly 1000 local alumni, Austin is home to one of the largest TFA alumni bases in Texas. We are working to ensure that, by 2030, twice as many children in Austin ISD and East Travis County will achieve postsecondary readiness and success, indicating that they are on a path to economic mobility and a future filled with possibility.
Teach For America Austin alumni work across sectors and in every corner of the Austin education landscape. With teachers, school leaders, policy advocates, and elected leadership our network is committed to fighting for educational equity in partnership with students, families, and community leaders. In order to meet the needs of our students, we know it will take the leadership of our entire Central Texas community to accelerate the pace of change.

About Teach For America
Teach For America works in partnership with urban and rural communities in 53 regions across the country to expand educational opportunity for children. Founded in 1990, Teach For America recruits and develops a diverse corps of outstanding leaders to make an initial two-year commitment to teach in high-need schools and become lifelong leaders in the effort to end educational inequity. Today Teach For America is a force of 56,000 alumni and corps members committed to profound systemic change.
From classrooms to districts to state houses across America, they’re reimagining education to realize the day when every child has an equal opportunity to learn, to grow, to influence and to lead.
