About This Seminar
The blood and immune systems have long served as paradigm experimental platforms for the generation of novel single cell molecular profiling datasets. We have generated a single cell expression atlas during the early stages of the human lifespan, taking advantage of ciTE-Seq technology, which enables joint mRNA and protein detection from the same single cells. Our overarching aim is to establish a foundational reference dataset for "normal" blood/immune cells across the human life span which can be integrated with complementary Human Cell Atlas projects and will serve as a platform for future studies aiming to reveal the molecular alterations in blood cells which can result in a broad range of disorders including blood cancers and immune diseases. Our initial data show that haematopoietic progenitors from fetal liver, fetal bone marrow and cord blood exhibit transcriptional and function differences that contribute to tissue-specific identity and cellular diversification. In this webinar you will learn - - Optimization of large panel CiTE-Seq experiments and integration of multiple datasets - Insights into haematopoietic development during the early stages of the human lifespan - How these experimental approaches and protocols can be readily applied to different scientific questions - here we will highlight the haematopoietic response to COVID infection
