Tom Stephenson

As Director of Legal Operations for Credit Karma, Tom focuses on helping legal departments run smarter and faster during periods of hyper-growth while implementing right-sized technology solutions that automate routine processes and provide meaningful data about how teams work. Tom works alongside global talent with a design-thinking mentality to identify, design, and reinforce people, processes, and technology that optimize business units to improve day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness. Prior to Credit Karma, Tom served as the first non-attorney legal operations executive for Teladoc Health during the largest M&A transaction in virtual care history ($18.5B). With over a decade in the legal industry, he supported legal operations and technology for several top litigation law firms in Chicago. Through his work with law firm executive leadership, Tom executes strategies and initiatives to drive an organization's continued growth and innovation. Tom has led numerous legal operational initiatives through consulting directly with partners and clients to identify business objectives, value perspectives, and process inefficiencies and ultimately develop and implement solutions. Tom regularly speaks as an authoritative voice on innovative legal operations strategies that drive efficiency, innovation, and transparency within an organization, including Harvard Law School.
