Multi-Generational and Multi-Cultural Organisations
ABOUT THE EVENT
Due to popular demand, from our previous FT Peer to Peer events, we have decided to devote our next session from 16.30 to 18.00 on 8th November 2022 to a subject which has become a defining characteristic for high performing leaders. The ability to understand, inspire, communicate and manage the many opportunities, challenges as well as the behavioural dynamics involved in leading multi-generational and multi-cultural organisations.
These capabilities have become a major differentiator for leaders and are key enablers in achieving organisational objectives in ever more dispersed and diverse teams with less opportunities for physical interaction. Such capabilities are generally learnt on the job with few benefitting from focussed development in this vital aspect of leadership. A lot of learning is based on not making mistakes and reducing reputational risk rather than galvanising diverse groups behind a common goal.
Being culturally and generationally adept and agile requires a high level of awareness of how others think differently as well as our own deep self-awareness. It also requires the ability to understand and manage conflicting objectives and ways of doing things.
As usual this will be a highly participative event with interesting content to stimulate group discussions with peers as well as shared learning amongst the group as a whole.
Our Chair for the evening is Patrick Dunne, an experienced Chair and author of the award-winning book 'Boards'. He has worked in major international groups as well as leading multigenerational teams in both developed and developing markets in the business, education and social sectors.
We very much hope that will be able to join us.
