Proximity Labeling of Proteins: Precise Micromapping with Dexterity Kits

Proximity protein mapping gives us a better understanding of the broader interactome on our protein of interest (POI). The more precise and complete this proximity protein mapping is the greater the implications in proteomics, genomics, and drug discovery. Previously proximity protein mapping tagged all proteins in the cell, Dexterity Kits allow us to precisely tag only the proteins within 4 nm of our POI, so long as we know an antibody or small molecule specific to our POI. Each kit provides all the reagents and a step-by-step procedure to conjugate your antibody or small molecule to a photocatalyst that localizes light-mediated crosslinking to the antibody/small molecule’s target and surrounding proteins. The ability to better understand a proteins microenvironment afforded by this new technique is likely to enable many future advancements in the study of proteins and proteomics.
