About Teach For America
Teach For America works toward the day when every child will receive an excellent and equitable education. We find and nurture leaders who commit to expanding opportunity for low-income students, beginning with at least two years teaching in a public school.
Working shoulder to shoulder with students, educators, and community members, Teach For America corps members support the academic and personal growth of students. The impact corps members have in the classroom fuels a lifelong commitment to their students and shapes the trajectory of their lives and careers.
Today Teach For America is a force of 56,000 alumni and corps members committed to profound systemic change..

About Teach For America - BALTIMORE
TFA launched its first corps in Baltimore in 1992 with 68 new teachers, called corps members. Today, we are more than 1,300 corps members and alumni making this city home and working to promote access and opportunities that enable Baltimore’s students to thrive.
There are over 500 program alumni working in schools and they reach approximately 30,000 Baltimore City students annually. Nearly 10 percent of Baltimore City Schools principals are program alumni, and many others are working through education nonprofits, in the growing EdTech space, and in public policy to bring innovative solutions to the most pressing education problems.
