Bio-Based Greener Solvents and their Applications in Electronics and Energy

SESSION 1: Presentation followed by Q&A with Prof. James Clark

SESSION 2: Presentation followed by Q&A with Monica Jung de Andrade

    About the Event

Join us as we discuss how increasing legislative and consumer pressure is forcing a transition from traditional and often toxic solvents towards those that are safe and with low environmental impact. Solvents such as hexane, DMF, and DCM are derived from non-renewable resources and are toxic to humans and harmful to the environment. New greener solvents need to be cost-effective, safe, bio-based or derived from waste, and bio-degradable. While some green solvents are coming onto the market the challenge is to develop a family of solvents that can provide all the necessary polarities and other physical properties required across a myriad of applications covering almost all industries.
