Summer Institute 2023: Deepening Team-Enabled Practices
About the event
Summer Institute 2023: Deepening Team-Enabled Practices is a 2-day, in-person professional learning event designed for educator teams working in Next Education Workforce team-based models. Sessions are designed for teams of two or more educators who share learners to attend together. School leaders and instructional coaches will also benefit. Teams will choose the sessions that best meet their needs and interests. The event features a selection of educator-led sessions on topics related to elements of Next Education Workforce models. Attendees will select a four-session workshop series focused on a particular element of team-based models. While core educator teams who share rosters of students are encouraged to attend a series together, individuals are also welcome and will have the opportunity to create a plan for bringing information back to their teams. Team-Enabled Project-Based Learning: This four-session series empowers educator teams with a foundational understanding of project-based learning (PBL) and brings this understanding to life through the creation, modification, or review of a PBL unit. This series highlights how Next Education Workforce team-based structures can strengthen the PBL instructional approach and takes educators through the steps of designing a PBL unit, while also planning for how to maximize distributed expertise. Strategic Team Planning for 2023-24: This four-session series empowers educators to draft a strategic plan that will serve as a blueprint for the year ahead. This series provides Next Education Workforce teams with guidance and time for goal-setting; preparing to tend to the health of the team; planning how they will support students and families; and making tactical decisions about space, scheduling, and educator roles. |
