Scope 3 emissions typically account for over 70 percent of an organisation’s carbon footprint and are under scrutiny from regulators, investors and customers alike. As businesses and public bodies work to improve sustainability throughout their value chains, there is a growing need to engage and align with suppliers and partners to increase efficiencies and reduce emissions and costs. It is particularly challenging to accurately measure and manage emissions in non-operated assets due to complexity and a lack of visibility and control. Suppliers are often SMEs and do not have sufficient in-house resources and expertise to monitor GHGs and decarbonise effectively.
Where are the opportunities for large organisations to collaborate with suppliers on Scope 3 carbon measurement and mitigation? In what ways have enterprises managed to gain visibility of their value chain footprint? What steps can identify hotspots and determine priorities to drive energy savings and shift demand away from fossil fuels?
The Financial Times, in partnership with Schneider Electric, hosted this webinar for business and public sector leaders responsible for managing sustainability and ESG risk across value chains. Our panel discuss how to work with suppliers and other partners to maximise impact and accelerate progress towards Scope 3 climate targets.
