ABOUT THE EVENT
The 6th annual Glaucoma Patient Summit, hosted by Glaucoma Research Foundation, will highlight advances in treatment options and provide practical information to help patients and caregivers understand and live with glaucoma. This year, the event will take place over two days. On Friday, June 28th, you have the option to register for ONE of three small group seminars that will focus on specific topics. The day will end with our welcome reception and exhibit hall for all summit attendees. On Saturday, June 29th, the general session will include presentations and panel discussions with leading glaucoma specialists, patients and caregivers. This is an in-person event only with no live virtual option. Sessions held on June 29th will be video taped and available on our website following the event. |

All Summit attendees are invited to join the Welcome Reception from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. Network with patients and summit speakers and visit the exhibit hall

1. Understanding Normal Tension Glaucoma
Normal Tension Glaucoma (NTG) is a unique form of glaucoma characterized by optic nerve damage and vision loss, despite intraocular pressure (IOP) remaining within the normal range. In this seminar, we will explore the key aspects of NTG, including its risk factors, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and management. We will discuss the importance of early detection and treatment, as well as current research and treatment options for NTG. By the end of this session, participants will have a comprehensive understanding of NTG and its implications for eye health.
2. Supporting Independence with Glaucoma and Low Vision
Experts will share practical tools and highlight technologies for enhancing independence and quality of life for patients with low vision. Will include demonstrations of assistive technologies and adaptive devices.
3. I've Just Been Diagnosed with Glaucoma. Now What?
Being diagnosed with glaucoma can be overwhelming, but understanding the condition and its management is crucial. This seminar aims to provide newly diagnosed individuals with practical information and support. We'll discuss what glaucoma is, its different types, and the importance of early detection. Participants will learn about treatment options, lifestyle changes, and regular monitoring to maintain eye health. By the end of this session, attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and resources to navigate life with glaucoma confidently.
Day 2 is a full day of presentations and discussions with clinicians, patients and caregivers.
