4-H PYD Immersion – Supporting Volunteers Using the 4-H Thriving Model

Are you ready to engage your volunteers in the 4-H Thriving Model? This immersion is for you! The goal of this virtual PYD Immersion is to provide professionals with the tools they need to support and empower volunteers to implement the 4-H Thriving Model in programming. This virtual 6-hour session will include 12 lightning talks with guest speakers from around the country, each of whom will share ideas of how they are using the 4-H Thriving Model in volunteer management. Speakers will share how they are: • using spark to recruit volunteers • inviting volunteers to begin their “4-H Journey” • orienting volunteers to understand the 4-H Thriving Model • sharing activities volunteers can lead aligned with the Thriving Model • understanding how the Danish Merit system aligns with the Thriving Model • recognizing volunteers using the model, and more! Come join so you can support your volunteers by: • Learning how the 4-H Thriving Model can frame your volunteer development- exploring ways to enhance connection, increase engagement and empower your volunteers to implement the Model with youth. • Exploring strategies to recruit new volunteers, reinvigorate your current volunteers and ignite the spark in your 4-H program. • Getting connected to the new Seeds of Success Volunteer Guide and learn how to utilize this activity-based resource with volunteers. • Creating a plan for the success and sustainability of your volunteer program- considering program quality and capacity- along with volunteer expectations, needs, development, and recognition.
