Coagulation beyond blood clotting: A platform for molecular and functional characterization of murine primary cells in translational research

    Free Virtual Seminar

    May 15, 2024 | 11:00 AM CEST

    About This Event

Besides blood clotting coagulation proteases can transmit cell signaling via protease-activated receptors, a family of G-protein coupled receptors. The expression of PARs is highly heterogeneous and distinct cell types in the body express diverse combination of PARs and their co-receptors. Local coagulation activation and signaling can have implications in various disease contexts such as cancer and metabolic syndrome associated disorders. Using isolated immune cells derived from a spectrum of conditional K.O. models and receptor mutant mice enables dissecting the molecular basis of thrombo-inflammatory processes. Here we demonstrate how to implement different features of the Cyation 5 to characterize primary cells on a molecular and functional basis.
