    About The Event

Community Weekend (CW) was created to bring together the Scholars of the Lenfest College Scholarship Program. Over the years, the program has grown, and so has the weekend. Community Weekend is a 3-day event that focuses on connecting Scholars, Scholar Alums, and other members of the Lenfest community. These groups engage in educational sessions, social and networking events, a celebratory banquet, and more. Community Weekend will continue bridging the gap between new and familiar cohorts by bringing them together once a year for moments of learning, reflection, and celebration. CW 24 will take place at Franklin & Marshall College, June 21-23, and we are excited to introduce the theme "Everyday Influencer: Cultivating Future Leaders"! This year's theme aims to empower our Scholars to emerge as inspirational and visible leaders who drive positive change, contribute to community development, and inspire others. These leaders will be deeply rooted in their origins, ready and equipped to apply their skills in diverse settings to significantly impact the world. Community Weekend 2024 will focus on developing and nurturing leadership qualities in our Scholars, emphasizing that leadership is not confined to formal roles but can be cultivated through everyday experiences and interactions. We look forward to the Lenfest Community coming together to foster a new generation of influential leaders!

    Community Weekend 2023

In 2023, Community Weekend was held at Gettysburg College and centered around the theme "Pathways to Rural Student Success." Over 200 members of the Lenfest Community came together, including current Scholars, educators, alums, and professionals, all committed to supporting rural education.

The weekend was filled with workshops, discussions, and networking opportunities, providing valuable insights and fostering connections aimed at enhancing the educational journey of rural students. We are deeply grateful for the enthusiastic participation of all attendees, which made the event not only educational but a fun and engaging experience.
