IJM has worked in Kenya for over 20 years and continues to combat police abuse of power, violence against women and children and modern slavery. It is estimated that 20,000 children are victims of sex trafficking in Kenya, and over 1,500 people have been killed by police or reported missing since 2007.
Since 2001, IJM has helped to convict over 150 criminals for sexually assaulting women and children, and trained nearly 7,000 police, judges and community members on child protection.
IJM is working to strengthen the local justice systems so perpetrators cannot get away with these crimes and community members are protected.
Join us at Ecodunia, a Kenyan fair-trade shop in the heart of Roscoe Village for a casual reception and deep dive presentation on IJM's work in the beautiful country of Kenya.
