Robert 'Dipper' DiPierdomenico
1986 Brownlow Medallist
5-Time Premiership Player
With his long hair and moustache 'Dipper' was one of football’s great characters of the 1980’s and one of its fieriest customers. He will be remembered for his trips to the VFL tribunal just as he will be remembered for winning the 1986 Brownlow Medal with Greg Williams.
His courage was underlined in the 1989 Grand Final win over Geelong. He played out the match with a punctured lung, broken ribs and according to Dipper, two broken legs and malaria... nothing could stop him on the last day in September.
Abbey Holmes
2017 Premiership Player
With her electrifying speed and sharp footballing instincts, Abbey Holmes has left an indelible mark on the AFLW. Renowned for her goal-scoring prowess and dynamic play, Holmes is celebrated as one of the league’s most prolific forwards.
Her exceptional ability to find the scoreboard was highlighted by career, showcasing her skill and consistency in front of goal. An All-Australian selection further underscored her impact and elite status within the competition. Her influence and achievements continue to inspire the next generation of players in the AFLW.
