How RenaissanceRe built a modern cloud data lakehouse to solve their most complex use cases

RenaissanceRe is one of the most forward thinking innovative organisations in the reinsurance industry. They replaced their legacy data infrastructure built on a traditional database architecture with Dremio's lightning fast data lakehouse, business friendly semantic layer and federation to deliver a modern unified analytics platform in the cloud. The new platform uses an S3 data lake as the centre of gravity and has enabled RenRe to overcome the bottlenecks of traditional databases. Alex's talk will explain how Day 1 they were able to connect all their data to Dremio and then very rapidly begin the process of offloading data to S3 in order to meet the demand of their most complex use cases such as Actuals vs Expected and Exposure Management. Thanks to the combination of Dremio and S3 they have been able to reduce time to insight from hours to minutes and provide their users with a high performance self service platform using data mesh principles.
