About the Event
Come join us to explore effective, equitable math instruction that reinforces learning through culturally relevant experiences. You will experience the intersection of mathematical thinking, creativity, culture, and identity through hands-on instruction and collaborative engagement. Our workshop will address age and grade-appropriate mathematical concepts such as shapes, patterns, fractions, and place value in the Elementary grades. We will provide you with all the materials needed to make the most of these experiences. Participants will receive an actionable toolkit designed to support equitable access to math standards for students from diverse backgrounds. Facilitators: Susan Cusack, Director Lesley STEAM Learning Labe Nettrice Gaskins- Project Scientist Who Should Attend: Elementary educators from STEM Excellence Pathway schools who are working toward implementing integrated STEM lessons for the classroom to provide students the skills necessary for the current STEM workforce demands. Any elementary educators who are interested in adding STEM experiences into their instruction are welcome to attend. Deadline date: Wednesday, October 16, 2024 Note: No refunds after deadline date. No refunds for no-show participants. All cancellations must be in writing before the deadline date. Participants that are outside of Riverside County will be able to pay by credit card only.
