Meeting Objectives:

• Review the cardiovascular outcomes trial (CVOT) evidence base across GLP-1/GIP and related cardiometabolic therapies, including differences in trial design such as placebo- vs. active-comparator and primary- vs. secondary-prevention populations, and how that evidence has translated into cardiovascular indications. 

• Examine how pharmacists in clinical practice settings apply cardiovascular outcomes data to therapy selection, dose titration, and ongoing monitoring for patients with type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular risk.

• Discuss real-world barriers to access, including prior authorization, affordability, and formulary considerations, and pressure-test assumptions about how quickly new cardiovascular evidence changes day-to-day prescribing and counseling behavior.
