AVID Riverside County (ARC) Introduction to Focused Note-Taking - Elementary

About the Event

This workshop is designed as an introduction to focused note-taking for all elementary teachers who want to integrate student-centered note-taking system into their curriculum. Focused note-taking empowers students to take charge of their learning. When teaching the focused note-taking process, educators need to determine how students will use their notes and set up the format appropriately. Educators will be guided through resources and planning opportunities to teach and facilitate the five phases of the focused note-taking process to maximize students' learning and integrate collaboration into the focused note-taking process so students are engaged in learning content and have the opportunity to learn from one another. Teachers will explore ways to provide students with best practices for engaging with and utilizing their notes as a tool for learning. Includes resources and materials. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Audience: Elementary Teachers Cost: Free This workshop is provided at no cost for Riverside County public school educators.
