Mel took the reins of Wunderman UK in 2012, with the brief of turning the agency into a formidable force in the market. In that time the agency won numerous high-profile accounts including Shell’s consolidated global CRM & Retail account and Coca-Cola’s CRM account across Northern Europe. Developing an open culture within the agency saw the creation of an in-house publishing capability and dedicated content studio, more award wins than ever before and a shortlist for Campaign Magazines Agency of the Year for 2014, the first time in eight years. Subsequently in February 2015, Mel was promoted to CEO of EMEA, which sees her driving the business forward in 40 markets, 78 offices with a team of over 3,000. Prior to Wunderman, Mel was CEO of M&C Saatchi’s digital and consumer engagement agency LIDA, where she successfully grew the business – resulting in being named Marketing Magazine’s direct marketing agency for 2011. In that time Mel also sat on M&C Saatchi’s Group Board and also chaired the IPA’s Direct Marketing Group.
