Head Start California invites YOU to submit a proposal to present at the upcoming 2023 VIRTUAL Annual Conference. The event will be held February 6-8, 2023, virtually on a platform that makes it easy for you, the speaker, to present (pre-recorded, on-demand viewing for attendees) and engaging for the attendee (scheduled Q/A times published to attendees where you can turn your camera on to answers questions just like you would in person) February 2023!
The Head Start California Annual Conference is the Association’s signature event where you will have the opportunity to gain experience and recognition by presenting in front of a statewide Head Start audience!
When considering your submission, please be prepared to select a track. Most workshops will be pre-recorded and should be no less than 30 minutes and no longer than an hour. Some speakers will be requested to participate in a live Q/A for their workshop.
Why Virtual?
While some Head Start California conferences have gone back to in-person during 2022, we have decided to keep the Annual Conference virtual for 2023. While the health and safety of our attendees continues to be of the utmost importance, the decision to hold a virtual conference was instead based on programs' inability to send staff due to the staffing crisis currently being experienced in Head Start programs nationwide. We have been told that right now, education staff, including teachers, are in need of training that is flexible and on-demand. Providing an on-demand library of pre-recorded sessions will ensure the maximum number of Head Start education staff will be able to benefit from the high-quality professional development that the HSC Annual Conference has been known to provide.
