Frequently Asked Questions
When is the conference?
October 21, 6:00 pm to October 23, 12:00 pm. The conference will start with a welcome reception and seated dinner on Monday so you have a chance to network. Tuesday morning starts with sessions until late afternoon, followed by more networking opportunities and dinner. Wednesday is a half-day of sessions until noon.
Where is the conference located?
The conference will be held at Loews Coronado Bay. The address is 4000 Coronado Bay Road, Coronado, 92118.
By when do I need to register, and how do I do that?
Plan to register as soon as possible so we can make sure we have enough rooms and meals (at the absolute latest, by September 16). After that, we can’t guarantee that you will get a room in the hotel or the meal you prefer. There is an event going on that week on the island, and rooms on the island are already quite booked up. Register as early as possible!
I am trying to book my hotel room but it is requiring that I enter my credit card information. What do I do?
The Loews Coronado Bay requires that you enter your credit card information in order to take your room out of their inventory. Your credit card will not be charged.
My firm paid for three colleagues to attend, but one more colleague wants to attend as well. How can I arrange that?
We are happy to help. Please contact us at bsimmconference@synopsys.com to discuss the particulars.
What is the closest airport?
San Diego International Airport is the closest airport, located about 11 miles away from the hotel. From the airport ride-share SuperShuttle is available for $20.00 per person one way as well as Taxi and Uber/Lyft. Self-parking is available on-site at $19.00/day (discounted from $31.00) and Valet-parking at $35.00/day.
What is the conference’s dress code?
Business casual is fine. With an eye toward the weather, the average high in October is 74 and the average low is 61 with a coastal breeze.
I have allergies or dietary preferences. Who do I contact to make sure I’m comfortable at the conference?
Our registration form will allow you to enter any food allergies or dietary preferences. If you are allergic to feathers, or other items that could be in your hotel room, please indicate that on your registration as well.
Which nights are included in my registration?
Two nights’ accommodations are included in registration, October 21 and 22. If you are also attending the Tech Track, the night of October 20th will be included as well.
Can I stay longer or check in earlier?
Please check with the hotel for availability. Any nights outside of the conference dates, October 21 and 22, are not included in your registration. However, if you want to extend your stay, you are still eligible for a discounted rate.
Does my room include breakfast?
If you have made your hotel reservations through us, the breakfast buffet is included with your room on October 22-23. You will need to provide your room number and mention you are part of the BSIMM Community Conference. If you are also attending the Tech Track, breakfast will be included on the morning of October 21.
Where will registration be happening?
Registration will be starting at 5:45pm on October 21. You can pick up your conference badge and grab a drink while you wait for the conference to begin promptly at 6:00pm.
What is your cancellation policy?
With so much going on in the industry, we're aware that sometimes best laid plans can change at the last minute. However, once you sign up, we start planning! If your cancellation occurs after September 16, 2019, we reserve the right to incur a fee as by then we have already paid the hotel for two nights of accommodations, and all your meals -- and drinks (!).
Are BSIMM presentations up for public discussion?
BSIMM Community Conferences, including BSIMM Europe, operate under Chatham House Rules:
When a meeting, or part thereof, is held under the Chatham House Rule, participants are free to use the information received, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the speaker(s), nor that of any other participant, may be revealed.

3) Hover over your profile icon and click "Leave Community"
