    ABOUT THE EVENT

    Join District Management Group (DMGroup) at the Hilton Minneapolis on December 7th and 8th for two interactive roundtable discussions. DMGroup is pleased to lead thse two professional development sessions for districts in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area free of charge:


    December 7: Improving and expanding social, emotional and behavioral supports

    December 8: Strategies to greatly improve the effectiveness of scheduling


    Superintendents, Chief Academic Officers, Deputy Superintendents, Principals, and all Central Office staff are encouraged to attend.

    Morning Session (8:30-11:30am): Shifting Resources to Support Strategic Priorities

    In an environment of limited resources and rising demands, funding priorities and new initiatives within existing budgets requires a revised approach to managing resources. This session will share leading research and practical insights  of the highest-impact opportunities to maximize resources for student success and explore four key high-leverage strategies: 

    • Precisely managing special education staffing and use of time  
    • Creating cost effective schedules
    • Connecting federal funds to strategic priorities  
    • Embracing Academic Return on Investment (A-ROI) to guide investments and abandonment  


    Afternoon Session (12:00-3:00pm): Improving School and Staff Scheduling and the use of Student and Teacher Time in Elementary Schools

    This session will examine how a comprehensive, best practice based approach to strengthen scheduling, the use of student and staff time, and overall management in your elementary schools will help achieve and implement best practices for teaching and learning. It will focus on the following four topics:

    • Optimized Master Building Schedules and Elementary Specials Schedules
    • Scheduling Reading Instruction
    • Scheduling Special Education staff teachers and related service providers
    • Scheduling for Interventions and other services (Tier 2 interventionists, RTI teachers, Social Workers)
